U13's reach the Herts Plate final

Royston U13's breezed through their Hertfordshire Plate semi final despite the game ending 17 minutes early at Barnet who were 45 points behind and were reduced to 14 men due to injury. Some excellent team tries which were created by the Royston forwards and backs who linked seamlessly at times. The main ingredients were the support runners. The pick of the tries started with George Adam on the wing and went through 10 pairs of hands before being touched down by the captain Fin Livingstone. This result capped a much improved few weeks, building on the storming Biggleswade result and the successful Barkers Butts cup winning tour, which relied on controlled team play rather than individuals. Several players were missing due to the holidays, but stand in scrum half Euan Denchfield stood out and was deservedly awarded man of the match. The other try scorer's were Livingstone (2nd), Kai Pendlebury, Denchfield, Luke Townsend, Jack Bateman, Fred Rayman and Alex Howorth. Euan Rees converted 5 of the 8 tries to make the score 5-50. Royston's final game will be the final at Old Albanians on Sunday 27th April which offers the chance of the third piece of silverware to add to the league and tour success.
