Royston travel to the once fabled Old Deer Park this weekend to face familiar opponents in London Welsh. After the collapse of their professional side in recent years, the once fully amateur team is now set upon making their way back up through the leagues, starting with their Herts Middlesex 1 title winning promotion last season. Royston were highly competitive in both fixtures, rueing a slow start at Old Deer Park that they couldn’t recover from, and initially dominating the home exchange at the Heath to take a well-earned 17-7 half time lead that slowly evaporated in the second half due to a combination of ill-discipline and a well drilled second half performance from Welsh. With Welsh already riding high this season and setting their sights on promotion to London 2NW, this will be a tough fixture in front of a large partisan home crowd, but one Royston can hopefully rise to, backed by a bus full of their own supporter’s!!!
Pob lwc Crows!!!
