Royston Ladies Dig Deep!

With Roystons Final League game of the season being called off Old Northamptonian Ladies Stepped in for a friendly match at the Heath which produced a great afternoon of Rugby! Royston was looking for a good test to end off the season and Old Northamptonian Ladies were just the team to deliver that challenge. In really tricky conditions both teams got going well from the whistle and the organisational structure of the visitors really limited attacking opportunities for Royston Ladies. Royston finally managed to break the visitors defence and scored 2 trys with one converted in the first half. As expected the visitors came back strong in the second half and put Royston under pressure on several occasions within 5 metres of scoring, Royston held strong with a great defensive team effort to hold off the advance and get the turnover on several occasions. The second half finished with 1 try for each team leaving Royston with the win on the day. A great game of rugby played by both teams and all played in the spirit of the game. Well done to both teams, a great team effort from both sides.
