Royston Ladies V West Norfolk Ladies

West Norfolk Ladies travelled to Royston for pre-season friendy and it didn't disappoint!

Without doubt one of the best matches Royston Ladies have played technically with much of what we have been training on over the summer being used. West Norfolk as always are a great team to play as they always show up and give you a great game of rugby testing our skills throughout the game. A far better performance this time from Royston compared to the last time we met West Norfolk.

After 40 minutes the score was 0-0 and had been a great game to watch with significant effort from both teams putting each other under pressure on many occasions. Royston were in the opposition 22 on many occasions but just could not come away with points but it wasn't for the lack of trying!

The second 40 minutes bought a penalty try for a high tackle and a couple of moments where we just lost a bit of concentration and let them break our defence. Again Royston pressurised West Norfolk in their own 22 and 5 metre areas on many occasions showing great determination and teamwork but today points just didn't come our way!

The coaches were very proud of the Ladies game today and can't wait to see how we develop during the season to come.

A great game to start the season and lots of positive rugby showing improvement from all players, roll on the 2017-2018 season now!
