Cheshunt travelled to Royston for the second time this season and after a very close game in the league we knew it would be tough.
The game was played in typical conditions on the Heath with a strong wind giving a massive advantage to the team playing down the hill. Chestnut used the conditions to their advantage and kept Royston pinned in their own half for most of the first half. Royston battled hard to keep the scoring to a minimum - we went into half time just 0 -5.
The second half was played in the same way as the first and Cheshunt had to battle hard to get any territory or possession. Tries from Rory & Owen and a conversion by Cody gave us a slim lead into the final 5 minutes but a last gasp try gave Chestnut a 12 - 12 scoreline that takes them through to the next round on the away team rule.
All coaches were massively proud of the effort our boys put into the game and we have all learned much from playing in such a tight game.
Tries: Rory, Owen
Cons : Cody
