The boys always look forward to playing at Barnet and the post match bath. The sun was out and the pitch was soft. Royston started strongly with two early tries and then began to lose their shape which combined with some great defence by the home side stopped the Royston momentum. Before the half time break Royston found the game plan and two further tries. Sadly our hosts lost a player to injury and without a replacement Royston reduced to match numbers on the field. We wish their player a speedy recovery. The second half started similar to the first with some early tries but the scoring rate had slowed mainly due to the fight the hosts were putting up. Royston reduced further to 13 In the last quarter of the game but some poor decision making and sloppy handling allowed a determined drive by the Barnet forwards which led to a well deserved try. The game played in a good spirit and Barnet as usual were excellent hosts. The boys had earned their bath and now a emi final against Chess Valley. The player of the match was Sean Roberts for some decisive tackling and strong running.
