Two unanswered tries for Barnet in the first half were answered with six from Royston in the second half
Royston chose to play into the wind in the first half and had the occasional surge into the Barnet half without really threatening the visitors line. Royston held in defence until late in the half when Barnet worked the ball well scoring two tries which their kicker to his credit put over from tight angles. The second half saw a change of personnel and a gear change. Royston scored within minutes and added a second almost from the restart. Barnet suffered as Royston did in the first half with not being able to clear their lines due to the wind and 4 more tries sealed the game although Barnet fought to the final whistle. As a friendly this was an opportunity to try players in diferent positions to gauge their versatility
