Shelford Under 15's 17 - 10 Royston Under 15's

On a paddy field of a pitch both sides played excellent rugby. Royston took the lead through a breakaway try from Harry Towler. Shelford equalised soon after. Royston's front row of Cameron Bonfield, Callum Waring and James Reeder were solid throughout ably backed up by Steve Graham, James Meecham and Tyler Boyne. New Number 8 Max Oliver made good ground with Oscar Ayliffe, James Kirby and Rhys Redrup tackling strongly. Shelford took the lead in the second half with a well worked converted try. Two try-saving tackles by full-back John Busher kept the match rolling along. Shelford scored another try but inspirational captain Ben Ireland went over for Royston. Wingers Joseph Gilhooly and Dan Jones both worked hard with replacements Will Gapper and Dominic Dunklin enjoying game time. A spirited performance by Royston in an entertaining game which saw more positives than negatives.
