Thankfully the worst of storm Angus missed Royston Heath on Sunday as we played Cambridge in a friendly match. There was light drizzle and this did make the ground and ball greasy so handling was at a premium.
Our game play in attack was as good as we have seen all season, however we were below par on our defence so more work to be done on this. This allowed the pressure we were placing on Cambridge to ease at key moments resulting in tries against us. Both clubs played some good rugby over the course of the 4 matches and at times it was very evenly matched. We saw some very good tries from both teams. In the end Cambridge did come out on top in all the games however our players continued to try right until the final whistle.
The team spirit continues to develop well and the support the players have for each other is overall very positive. Well done to those that played and to the parents for supporting in less than ideal conditions.
