Royston 2’s also found themselves in a crucial game when they played Cuffley 2’s at the Heath. Cuffley, also sitting one place above the Crows were out to stamp their mark on Royston home turf, and scored early on in the first half. Royston took this early set-back well, gradually gaining confidence and the piecing together their own attacks. Royston combined power in the forward and aggressive running in the backs to put pressure on the visitors. The Crows crossed the line on several occasions, with Tom Greaves, Will Law, Dan Fox, Scott Easy and the fiery cannonball Cameron Bonfield all charging home. Youngsters Charlie Oughton and Luke Ackford showing the true class. Cuffley pulled back a late try, however it was the Crows that ended victorious, winning 29-12.
