Five players played for Cambridgeshire against Norfolk Wednesday night under flood lights on their new 3G pitch

Cambridgeshire were Captained by Findlay Livingstone at Hooker who lead from the front with some typical barnstorming runs through the Norfolk defensive lines. Findlay had already earnt his County tie along with two of the others in an earlier fixture against Suffolk. Henry Jones, back from injury, linked up well at Scrumhalf and made some important defensive tackles. He debuted along with Centre Luke Townsend who was typically robust in his defensive duties tackling hard and proving a nuisance at the breakdown. At half time Norfolk lead 12-14.
In the second half Henry and Luke made way in their respective positions, but Kai Pendlebury came on at No8 and Alex Howorth in at Lock kept the Royston participation up. Both new forwards followed their Captains lead making good yards and often being the strike runners. Luke had a late flurry on the Wing. All in all the Royston players performed very well despite Norfolk winning 24-35
All the Royston Cambridgeshire County squad players now have to wait to see if they are selected to go forward for the Eastern Counties trial.
