Royston Rugby Club 2017 Tour

Thanks to everyone who completed the SurveyMonkey form to express an interest in joining next year’s tour. We’re thrilled that the 2017 family rugby tour promises to be even bigger than last year!

What are the dates and where are we staying?

Based on the clear preference for a festival that runs over the first May Bank Holiday weekend (28 April – 1 May 2017) and for a site that can offer both camping pitches and caravans, we’ve selected the Great Yarmouth Festival, with accommodation Park Resort’s Breydon Water Holiday Park.

We’ve worked hard to find a holiday park with good facilities (and reviews!) which is closer to the festival site this year, to minimise travel time – and that will suit a range of budgets. The U13s will play at a different location to U7s-U12s, but both sites are within a 10 minute drive from the holiday park. As with last year, we are using a Tour Operator who manages all the organisation of the festival and accommodation on our behalf.

Please remember you are buying a package holiday, not just paying for accommodation. Your child will only be able to participate in the Festival if you have booked accommodation though Royston Rugby club. There will be no exceptions to this. All children will need to be accompanied on tour by one of their legal partners/guardians.

Please note it will be self-drive between the holiday park and the festival site this year. We’ve been advised there is plenty of parking.

Which age groups will be going on Tour?

Everyone from next year’s U7s-U13s is invited to join the tour. From the SurveyMonkey feedback we’re hopeful we’ll have enough players in every age group to enter at least one team. If for some reason we don’t have enough players signed up in your child’s age group we will let you know before we ask for a deposit.

What’s included in the holiday package?

• 3 nights’ accommodation at Breydon Water Holiday Park
• Camping/touring pitches with electric hook-up or caravan
• Entertainment passes (including indoor pool) at the Holiday Park for each person booked
• Festival entry & medals for players
• A souvenir tour shirt for all players

What are the prices for Camping/touring pitch prices?

The camping pitch price is based on the number of people occupying the pitch. Prices are in the table overleaf. Note there is an under occupancy costed into the two person price – it’s very unlikely we’ll be able to wave this for next year’s tour. However, we will put a cap on the pitch price of £275, so people can save money by sharing a tent if they maximise the occupancy. U3s are free - add them to the booking form, but you won’t be charged.

What are the prices for caravans?

We have caravans available in a range of sizes and grades . The prices outlined in the table overleaf are per caravan for the advertised number of people, e.g. for a group of five people selecting a Bronze caravan, the price would be £485. A group of four people wanting to stay in an 8-berth caravan (i.e. 3 bedrooms) would pay the six-person price for the relevant grade of caravan. U3s (at time of the tour) are free of charge and don’t count towards occupancy, e.g. a family of 5 with one child under 3 can book a 4 berth and use their travel cot in the lounge. If you’re interested in sharing a caravan with another group to reduce the cost, then let us know and we’ll try to put people in touch with each other.

Please note that although we have very good availability of caravans, the actual availability of different sizes and grades varies. You will be asked to select your preference of caravan size/grade. We will do our best to accommodate everyone’s first choice, but will work on first come first served basis if we have too many requests for a particular size/grade. If for some reason we can’t accommodate your first choice we’ll come back to you with an alternative option before we ask you to pay a deposit – and you can decide whether to proceed. If you need a caravan that can accommodate a dog, then please mention this on the booking form.

How do I book?

To make a booking please complete the following SurveyMonkey link by Friday 7 July.

https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/TQC99BN

Shortly after this date we’ll be back in touch to confirm the price, the required deposit and details of how to make payment. It will still be possible to book onto the tour later in the year, but it will be subject to availability.

How much is the deposit?

• Deposit 1: £15 per person by 29 July 2016
• Deposit 2: £15 per person by 16 September 2016.
• Balance: by 28 February 2017.

If you would like to make regular payments to spread the cost of the tour this can be arranged.

Please note deposits will be non-refundable after 1 October 2016.
